It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Taressa Griffin who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Celebration of Life Services will take place on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Victory Praise and Worship Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A viewing and visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary W. Moore and her brother, DeCarlo Jubrey Griffin.
Taressa leaves to cherish her memories, a son Derek A. Butts; a granddaughter Shaquaya Butts-Walton
(Gregory); a grandson Kyng Walton, all of Elizabeth City, NC; a special friend Douglas Blackwell; of Long
Island, NY; father, Jubby B. Griffin; of Elizabeth City, NC; three brothers; Ricky Griffin of Edenton, NC;
Master Sergeant Randy Griffin (Velma) of Smithfield, NC; Stanley Griffin (Cassandra) of Nashville, NC; six
sisters; Karen M. Taylor of Killen, TX; Sandra Major-Muniz (Jorge) of Waterbury, CT; Maria Griffin, Delean
Riddick, Angele Moore, and Dortheia Griffin, all of Elizabeth City, NC; best friend Shabriya Hinton; and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
