Robert Levi Perry

It is with great sadness that we announce the earthly transition of Mr. Robert Levi Perry who entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Newport News, Virginia. Celebration of Life services will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Joseph A. Turner delivering words of comfort to the family. He will lie in state from 11:00am until time of service. 

OBITUARY

Robert Levi Perry, the son of late Lee Ernest Perry Sr. and Helen Louise Franklin Perry, was born December 29, 1955 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Robert was educated in the Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public School System and graduated from Northeastern High School, the Class of 74. He was a graduate of Durham Business College and North Carolina Central University. He studied computer programming. He worked as a programmer for private and public companies such as EPA and United Postal Services. He extended his skills in building websites not only for companies, but for churches and other outreach ministries. He exemplified a passionate heart in helping to find ways to grow your ministries through the tools he knew that were available.

Robert was Broker, was passionate about Real Estate. He loved sharing his knowledge and understanding with others in a manner to help them to reach their dreams, always full of ideas and plans.

Robert spent most of his adult life in Durham, North Carolina where he enjoyed his time with friends especially Brad and Stan whom they called “Jolly Bob.” He later returned to his hometown to assist his mom.

His earthly life memories will forever be cherished by all that knew him. Robert loved hanging out at his Aunt Jessie Lee’s house all of hi holidays with Tommy, Terry, Davie and Levy, sometimes he would pull away to eat at Aunt Marie’s house, because he loved her good cooking too.

Robert leaves behind one sister, Mattie Perry Johnson (Ernest) of Durham, NC; one godson Brandon A. Perry (Dr. Kennetta); one God sister Kandice Franklin of Greenville, NC; one godbrother Levario Franklin, Suffolk, Virginia; a cousin/sister, he spoke highly of Pastor Linda Franklin of Elizabeth City, NC; special cousins Judy Cooper Skinner of Durham, NC; Curtis Brooks and James Brooks of Elizabeth City, NC; three aunts Sadie Matie Billups of Elizabeth City, NC and Jessie Lee Barclift “mom” of Elizabeth City, NC; Allean Johnson of Baltimore, Md; one uncle Larry Franklin (Beverly); devoted friends/brothers James Bradford and Stanley Rose both of Durham, NC and Alfred Muldrow of Elizabeth City, NC, Kathye Perry of Durham and Ann Burnette;; one nephew Derrick Perry of Little Elm, Texas; three nieces Sabrina Perry of Oak Lawn, Illinois, Sarah Neri (Jorge) of York, South Carolina and Tanya Knight of Elizabeth City, NC; and 9 great nieces and nephews , classmates, cousins and friend.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother Lee Ernest Perry, Jr. And nieces Leisha Perry and Dr. Joi Weeks.
