It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phu Tan Nguyen who entered into eternal rest at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
A service celebrating his life will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the Chapel of Adkins Memorial Funeral Home from 9:00am-2:00pm.
Everyone attending the service must wear a mask. Please remember this loving family in your thoughts and prayers.
The Obituary
Phu Tan Nguyen, age 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Elizabeth City, NC on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Phu was born in Vietnam on September 18, 1960 to Nhung Van Nguyen and Le Thi Ne. His immediate siblings and birth mother reside in Vietnam.
He was a hardworking family man who always strive to be the best and provide for his family. Only having finished seventh grade, he was pulled out of school to provide for his siblings and family.
Phu was a selfless man, always putting his family needs before his own. He was a fisherman for most of his life and became a master nail technician later on. Many of his clients new him as "Paul." Those who knew him know that he was a kind man.
Phu Nguyen is survived by his wife, Thuy Nguyen, daughters whom are Oanh Dietzway (husband, Jeffrey Dietzway), Ngan Nguyen (boyfriend, Jaubarie Brooks), Truc Boyd (husband, William Boyd Jr), and son, Tony Nguyen. He was a grandfather to Melanie Lee, Delaani Lee, Eva Lee (father, William Lee), Saleya Boyd, and Grayson Dietzway. He was the greatest grandfather ever.
Phu was a very proud father to see his youngest child and only son graduate and attend East Carolina University.
