It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Melvin Ford Stokley who entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Celebration of Life services will commence on Saturday, June 24, 2023 beginning at Two o’clock in the afternoon at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop David White delivering the Eulogy and Pastor Demetrius Stokley, officiating. Interment will follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A viewing and visitation will take place on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the funeral home from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
He leaves to cherish his memory to four daughters, Doreen (devoted caretaker) known to him as Boot; of Elizabeth City, NC, Lorrain Freeman (Delvin) of Waterbury Connecticut, Patricia Stokley, Shameeka Walker (Joe), all of Elizabeth City, NC; Gladys Stokley; two sons, Donald Stewart (Jamie), of Allentown PA, Antoine Turner of NY; three brothers, Bishop Timothy Stokley (Arnetta) of Chesapeake, VA, Bryant Stokley, (Ramona), Overseer Fred Stokley, Sr. (Debra) all of Elizabeth City, NC; fifteen grandchildren, Alona Snowden of Elizabeth City, NC, Sheena Stokley of Portsmouth, VA, Otis, Givonna, Tevin, Jamesha, Kha’Shiya, Janae, Jasmine, Ja’Quay all of Elizabeth City, NC, Darrin, Paige, Diyal, Sanai all of Allentown PA, Taquita Gibbs of Florida; thirty-one great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephew, family and friends. He also leaves to cherish his memory four special nieces, Rosemary, Tracy, Vera, Etnella.
