Obituary

Frankie L. (Buddy) Ogletree, entered Eternal Rest, unexpectedly at his home in Syracuse, NY on September 4, 2023, at the age of 74. 
Frankie graduated from Corcoran High School and was drafted into the United States Army where he served as a Military Policeman. After serving in the Army, Frankie worked at Lockheed Martin for 44 years and retired as an Assembler-Group Leader in the Ground Base Radar Division. He was a member of the Syracuse Elks Lodge #1104. He also enjoyed mentoring students from the SCSD, cooking, baking and laughing with family and friends, and was a long-time member of Second Olivet Missionary baptist Church. 
Frankie was preceded in death by his loving parents, Eddie and Mary Ogletree, and his sister, Barbara Fern Cooper. He is survived by his adoring wife, Edna Ogletree, his devoted daughter, Donzetta Ogletree Griffin and stepson, Jeremy Parker. Also surviving are siblings who were all dear to Frankie's heart, Dr. Betty J. Roberts; Edna L. Grigsby (James); Cora A. Thomas; Agnes M. Ogletree and Adelia A. Mosley (Dennis); grandsons, Amar Ogletree and Anthony Griffin, and step-grandson, Jaden Parker. Frankie also leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, Mack, MaryAnn, Lille, Roe, Sally and Mark and a host of close-knit nieces, nephews and cousins. 
Calling hours will be Saturday, September 16th, 10am-12pm, at Second Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, 818 S. West Street, Syracuse, NY. Funeral service to immediately follow. Garland Bros. Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
