It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Chereka Greene Washington who answered the Master's Call on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her father, Pastor Roger Greene (Kathy) of Elizabeth City, NC; her siblings, Tron Greene (Wanda) of Gates County, NC, Billy-Joe of Elizabeth City, NC, Jamar Wilson and Shenay Wilson Bouges of Elizabeth City, NC; her nieces and nephews, Kala and Shamar Greene, Leigha White, Brianna Wilson, Desean Bogues, Jr., and Jordyn Wilson; her grandmother, Ruth Ferebee of South Mills, NC; her aunts, Michelle Lewis (Jerry, Yalonder Garris, Cynthia Griffin and Demetria Riddick, all of Elizabeth City, NC; her uncles, Dougles Greene (Connie) of Remington, VA, Reynold Spence (Jackie) of Jersey City, NJ, and Joseph Spence, Jr. of Hopewell, VA; some of her special family, Uncle Hiram Godwin, Sr., God-brother, Desi Combs, God-sister, cousin, Shelia Frost, Pam Etheridge, Spiritual Mother, Mrs. Janice McKinnely, God-Mothers, Paulette McCoy and Dorothy Mercer; special friends, Angel and Richard Cole; and a host of cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will take place on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 1:00pm at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church located at 506 York Street in Elizabeth City, North Carolina with Pastor Kera Johnson, Officiating and Pastor Marcus Etheridge delivering the Eulogy. She will lie in repose from 12:00pm until time of service. Interment will follow at the New Sawyer’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Covid-19 Restrictions will be in place and no one will be able to enter the service without a mask. The family wishes to thank everyone in advance for their willingness to adhere to these guidelines.
