MASKS ARE REQUIRED!

Anton Ray Skinner was born to the late James Luke Skinner and Cymera Bernice Beasley on July 5, 1961 in Pasquotank County, North Carolina. Anton attended Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County Schools and graduated from Northeastern High School in 1979. Upon graduation, he attended Elizabeth City State University, where he was a member of the Sound of Class Marching Band and The Poison Drumline. Anton was an avid music lover. He enjoyed listening to all types of musical arrangements. He also enjoyed playing musical instruments, his favorite being the bass guitar and drums.

Anton was a dedicated and hard worker. He worked at the Pasquotank Correctional Institution for 23 years as a Sergeant. Upon retiring, he moved to Florida to enjoy the warm weather and to relax. While living in Florida, he decided to rejoin the workforce. He worked at Westgate Resorts within Risk Management until his passing. He developed many lasting friendships while working and would always lend a helping hand. To know him was to love him, “The Gentle Giant”.

Anton loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was so proud of his son and grandchildren. He loved to share all of their accomplishments with his coworkers and friends. He also loved watching action and Karate movies. His laughter, jokes, stories, and words of encouragement will be missed.

Although our hearts were not ready, God had different plans. Anton was preceded in death by his brother Eddie Williams and sister Bridgette Franklin.

Anton leaves to cherish his many loving memories: his wife, Imelda Bagor Skinner and step-children of M; his only son Dwan Bell (Nikki) of Camden, North Carolina. Five Grandchildren: Tralenn, Devin, Dwan(Mouse), Chanel, and Demari. Five Brothers: Arnette Skinner of Lake Wells, Florida; Elder Jesse C. Purkett (Johnna) of Elizabeth City, NC; Colin Tillman (Tammie) of Elizabeth City, NC; Linc Brooks (April) of Rocky Mount, NC; and Van Franklin of Cary, NC. Three Sisters: Yvette Franklin of Clayton, NC; Delsey Avery (Raymond) of Raleigh, NC; and Wendy Jones of Knightdale, NC. One Sister In-Law: Kathy Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
