It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Alvin Griffin who answered the Master's Call on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina.
Celebration of Life Services will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00pm at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. A Walk-Through Viewing will take place on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Adkins Memorial Funeral Home. Please remember to wear your masks and social distancing measures will be in place.
Alvin was preceded in death by seven brothers: Lemuel Jr, Johnnie, Lindbergh, Marvin, and Millet and four sisters: Vassie, Helen, Rosa Lee, and Catherine. Alvin leaves to cherish many loving memories, daughter, Gail Adkins Whitehurst; Grandchildren; Gabriel McClease Adkins and Maeriah L. Whitehurst of Elizabeth City, NC; six precious Great Grandchildren: Jaelah, Gabrielle, Ayden, Caden (Big Boy), Gavin, and Gabriel Jr. One brother; Jubby Griffin of Elizabeth City, One sister; Mary Kirklen (William), Two sister in laws; Vivian Griffin and Nellie Griffin of Elizabeth City, NC. A host of nieces and nephews as well. A special friend who loved and admired Alvin, Ms. Rina King of Elizabeth City, NC.
